You can't put a camera in your pocket that has one of those pop-out lenses because dust gets into them. Been there, don't that. Needs to be dust proof like this camera. Dont put anything metal in that pocket or you will scratch the thing to heck. Always use the wrist strap so you don't drop it while shooting. We take a lot of photos and I bought this camera for my wife to carry in her purse. The camera is small, light, and takes better pictures than I expected. I am not crazy about the slide cover, and would have preferred an automatic slide on the lens, but it is nice that the cover turns the camera on and off.
